This has been an absolutely amazing week! Last night I got watch my beloved Baltimore Orioles SWEEP the Detroit Tigers to head to the ALCS. In my opinion, the MVP of the game should be Buck Showalter for one of the gutsiest moves I have ever seen in the MLB. To purposely put the winning run on base to make the game-ending double play possible could have failed catastrophically. Okay, I'll admit that's a bit melodramatic, as it would have simply meant a Game 4, though loyal O's fans understand what I mean. But instead, because Buck is a genius, it went just as planned. The smile on his face was a site to behold, and it told me he was probably as terrified as I was.
I couldn't sit down during the intentional walk. I stood behind the couch, arms crossed, with nothing to do but rock back and forth. A minute later I was jumping up and down and distributing high-fives to my entire family. As our Orioles hashtag has proclaimed, we won't stop! I now have to be patient until the Orioles can begin dismantling the Royals on Friday, and watch to see who comes out of the National League.
On a much more personal note, this week was equally amazing for me as an author. On October 1st, my second book, Treadmill Tales: The Hilarious, Ridiculous, Sometimes Mind Boggling Things People Do While Working Out was published! As my Facebook and Twitter folks "heard" me say, I am proud to no longer be a One Book Wonder. I look forward to hearing all of your feedback on all of my hilarious stories from the gym and beyond.
Treadmill Tales has really been a work in progress for me that began in early 2012. It began as a blog that my loyal readers were immensely kind in their praise of. My hope is that new readers will love it, laugh with it, and share it with a friend. The link above will take you to Amazon, but you can purchase it online at your favorite bookstore. As an independent author, when it first went live it was only available on Amazon, but I know it has since made it to Barnes and Noble.
If you find your favorite store doesn't carry it, please ask them to. I am currently working to get both of my book on Googe Play, something that has turned out to be more difficult than I first imagined. Don't worry, just like the O's, I won't stop. (I couldn't pass up a line like that.) Soon I hope to create a store here on this website where my books can be purchased directly. Stay tuned for that.
To the Orioles, you are amazing! To my readers, you are equally amazing in my eyes. Please go and get your copy of Treadmill Tales, and while you're at it, grab one for your favorite gym buddy. When you've finished, head back over to Amazon or Goodreads and leave a review!
Have a fantastic week, everyone!
