Struggling writers, if this sounds like you, you are not alone.
Today I am here to remind all of you out there that you can do this. Those writers with half-finished narratives, a short story you wish you could expand but don't know how, or those of you simply with an idea you are afraid to dive into; don't give up on your stories.
As many of you know, my current novel has had it's ups and downs.
I have started and stopped,
started again with a handful of notes and ideas,
written an overview that nearly ruined the whole thing,
dove back into it again,
gotten distracted by other projects,
convinced myself the whole thing is awful,
started once more,
gotten distracted by life,
came back, and am now fully invested in it and will finish it soon.
At any spot along the way I could have deleted the entire project, tossed my paper copies in the trash, broken my hot pink pen I always work in and given up. I am so glad I didn't, because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I can't wait to share this story with you.
If reading these words has resonated with you, you are not alone. You can do this. Also, realizing that you may need to step away from you story is okay. It will be there when you are ready to return. Just don't completely walk away. That story needs to be told, and no one can finish it but you.
Go write something amazing.
