Today's entire post can be summed up by its title. If simply reading it and clicking brought you here because you know how hard it is to find time to write, I hear you. Oh my word, do I hear you! One of the hardest parts of being an author is also having a life. Kids, sports, meals, simply needing to clean all of the @#$& leaves outside, all of it gets in the way of the one thing you both want and need to be doing- writing. The struggle is real.
The simply truth is this- you are going to have to make it a priority and slice it out of your schedule.
"Finding time to write" is a pipe dream. It's not going to happen. Stop lying to yourself about that, and go make time.
I will admit that I struggle with this myself. One of the biggest reasons this post is going to be as short as it is is because I have let other things get in the way this week of working on both my books and my blog. As I am making the decision to really work to be better about that, I challenge you to do the same. If you are capable of scheduling time to work out, time to volunteer, and even time to clean those blasted leaves, you can schedule time to write. For some of you it may setting aside the same couple of hours every day. For others it may setting aside certain days of the week to focus on nothing but writing, and carving other days for errands, laundry, etc.
I'm sure there are a million people out there who will tell you one way or the other is better. Find what works for you.
